A simple South Indian dessert, Sunnundallu is a good evening snack.
Ingredients
2 cup white lentils (urad dal)
1 cup sugar
1 cup ghee
Almonds/Cashews for garnishing
Directions
- Roast the white lentils until the raw smell is lost and the lentils turn brown-ish
- Take the lentils off the flame and grind into a fine powder
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the ground lentil flour and sugar, into a consistent mixture
- Melt the ghee and add it to the mixture
- Knead the mixture well
- Roll small quantities of the kneaded mixture into balls
- Add roasted almonds/cashews for garnishing while rolling into balls
